The hotel is located on beautiful Djurgården with several of Stockholm's attractions such as ABBA The Museum, Skansen, and Gröna Lund around the corner. It only takes 10 minutes to get from Stockholm city, and the tram is right next door.
We are now looking for a sous chef to strengthen our kitchen team! Interested? Read on!
What does your workday look like?
You will work closely with the head chef and be responsible for leading the team in the kitchen during service, ensuring the kitchen's efficiency and that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the highest quality.
Your responsibilities include, together with the head chef, setting menus, planning for the purchase of ingredients, and ensuring compliance with routines.
This is a role that requires both culinary skills and leadership abilities.
The majority of your working hours will be in the evenings and on weekends, but some working hours will be during the day. Your working hours will be on a rolling schedule with every other weekend off.
You will report to the Head Chef.
Who thrives here?
You are creative, have a good sense of taste, caring, and knowledgeable; you see value in educating and uplifting your colleagues. You have an eye for detail and work in a structured manner. It is in your nature to be solution-oriented even under time pressure, and you handle unpredictable events with calm.
You have several years of documented experience in the restaurant industry, and previous experience in a similar role is a merit but not a requirement.
You have an interest or previous experience in working towards climate and environmental goals. Cirkus Venues has been certified according to ISO 14001 since 2022, and we consider environmental impact in all aspects of our daily work.
What do we offer?
The position is full-time and permanent with a 6-month initial probationary period.
Collective agreements and good benefits are a given for us!
Are you interested?
Send your application to us. The deadline for applications is 2026-03-22. Recruitment is ongoing, and the position may be filled earlier, so don't wait to apply!
Warm welcome!
Cirkus Venues is a newly formed corporate group with businesses under strong development and is today one of Stockholm's largest players in the tourism industry. Cirkus Venues includes several established destinations and meeting places - Cirkus Arena & Restaurant, Hasselbacken, the boutique hotel Backstage with brasserie, café, bar, and the Visitors Bistro. From 2026, we will expand our operations with the new arena Gasometer in Norra Djurgårdsstaden.
For Cirkus Venues, a sustainability mindset is a given and something we actively work with at all levels. In 2022, we, together with our friends in Djurgården, received the prestigious “Green Destination Award” from the organization “Green Destinations.” This was due to the successful sustainability work that Djurgården conducts regarding, among other things, the environment and climate, culture and tradition, social sustainability, and hospitality. We see this fine award as both a confirmation and an inspiration to continue our important sustainability work going forward.
